SUSTAINABILITY
What Was Inherited. What Is Sustained.
Sustainability begins with the land. Here, it is a daily discipline, preserving what remains, restoring with care, and moving in rhythm with the landscape.
Stewardship of the Land
Restoration honored original materials and historic form. Daily life continues that care through solar energy, rainwater harvesting, responsible waste management, filtered drinking water, and on-site EV charging.
Hospitality here is measured, never excessive.
Water & Gardens
Rainwater supports gardens and operations. Low-flow systems and drip irrigation reduce waste. The heated saltwater pool minimizes chemical impact while preserving comfort.
Energy & Emissions
Solar energy powers a growing share of the estate. Efficient systems, LED lighting, and low-consumption appliances reduce reliance on non-renewable sources.
Waste &Recycling
Composting returns nutrients to the soil. Recycling practices limit landfill impact. Packaging is selected for its recyclable or reusable qualities wherever possible.
Seasons at the Table
Food reflects the land. Through Casa Ceccatelli in Greve in Chianti, the family continues its organic, seasonal production of wines and extra-virgin olive oil. Chef-led meals, tastings, and vineyard visits connect guests directly to that heritage.
Heritage, Carried Forward
Dating to the 17th-century, the estate was restored with a clear philosophy: preserve first, adapt gently.
Stone, timber, and terracotta were repaired rather than replaced. Local artisans and craftsmen continue to shape its care.
The relais remains part of its living cultural landscape.
Responsible Hospitality
The team is hired locally, fostering continuity and deep knowledge of the land. Long-standing relationships, fair practices, and ongoing stewardship guide daily life.
Care here is personal and enduring.
Community
The family supports cultural, educational, and humanitarian initiatives in Italy and beyond — quietly and consistently.
Immersive Travel
Each stay honors what has been entrusted to this place — ensuring that the land, and those who pass through it, remain gently enriched.
